Bucerias is a favorite vacation spot for Canadians and other North Americans. The name refers to a "place of divers". It is located approximately 20 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta.
The appeal of Bucerias is largely for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle while still enjoying all the amenities a resort town has to offer. Bucerias has 5 miles of soft sandy beaches. There are cobblestone streets, a fabulous selection of restaurants, boutiques, souvenir shops, and street vendors. You will also find some very popular sport bars, such as "Yo Yo Mo's".
There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy such as jet skiing or sailing on a Hobie Cat. Bucerias offers stunning sunsets, and a level of tranquillity not found in major resort towns. It is famous for its flea markets and central markets where you can find T-shirts, dresses, hats, shoes, silver, giftware, souvenirs, tequila and much more. The locals are friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Bucerias is nestled between Nuevo Vallarta and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and is truly coming into its own as a favored spot in the Riviera Nayarit.
